This is where the club went on its very first trip back in May 1950. It's on the western side of the Kaimais overlooking Matamata. The track follows a stream and then there is a steep climb to the top of the escarpment with views of the falls from beneath and peering over them from a platform at the top. It's a short walk further on to the junction of the North-South Track.
