Club Character 1st - Photography Is Hard Work - Jane Divett 2008 Photo Competition rulesThis year all formats (slide, photo, digital) will be judged together. CategoriesPlease note photographs in all categories with the exception of Natural History can include photos taken overseas. - Alpine - The interest matter is predominantly alpine, glaciers, snow, rock, ridges, and alpine activities.
- Tramping - The interest matter is mainly tramping scenes or persons performing activities associated with tramping.
- Natural History - Studies of flora, fauna, geological specimens or features, ie. natural and native to New Zealand. Cats, dogs and pine trees are not acceptable.
- General - Any studies of a general nature which do not fit into any of the other classes.
- Club Character - Persons or activities peculiar to our club. A fun event to round the evening off. This class is judged by the loudest support at Club Night.
Rules- There is a maximum number of 3 entries per person per category
- Each entry must:
- have a title - have your name - include which category it is entered into These will be displayed to the audience on Club Night, but not to the judge prior to this. - Photos must be yours originally
- Only Natural History and Club Character photos can be cropped
- Digital photos must be provided on a CD
- Photographs may have colour and contrast enhanced but strictly no cutting and pasting to add or delete items in or from the original photograph
- No entry which has previously won a prize, may be entered again.
- All slides must be spotted. That means a black spot is placed on the top right hand corner of the slide mount.
- Each entry must be entered in the most appropriate class.
- The winners plus second and third place will be announced on Club Night.
- Photo CD’s and slides to be delivered to Neil Rowe by June meeting. No photos accepted after this date.

2007 Photographic Competition - RulesPhoto entries will need to be submitted by June club night. July’s club night has been designated for our annual Photographic Competition. After much discussion the committee have come up with the following categories: • Tramping - photos from anywhere • Alpine - photos from anywhere • Natural History - photos from anywhere • Club Character - any club member photographed in a funny, or even compromising position • General - uniquely New Zealand • General - uniquely overseas
Please label your photos clearly with the category you wish to enter, along with your name. Save your photos onto a CD and submit by the next club night - 6 June.
Either bring your CD to the June club night, or post to PO Box 685, Hamilton 3240 attn: Michael Nightingale
No entries will be accepted after this date.
Last years’ entries were great, so now that we have had a Photoshop lesson with John Greenwood, let’s make this year even better...so get out there and get snapping!!!
